Our Mission
United Way of the DuPage Area’s mission is to improve lives by mobilizing caring people to invest in the community where their resources are needed most. This year the United Way of the DuPage area made another investment to the health and human services programs serving our 29 communities. Last July a total of $2.89 million was distributed to 44 partner agencies that provide a myriad of health and human service programs. This amount represents an 8% increase over last year’s amount and will be used to fund programs that include early childhood mentoring and stay in school programs, specialized care for seniors and people with disabilities, temporary food and shelter for the homeless and victims of fire and natural disaster, victims of violence, and job placement and retention for adults.
Of course this would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of many volunteers, especially our Board of Directors and committee members. They have provided financial support as well as many hours assuring that informed decisions are made with our investments. These volunteers understand that supporting the United Way is the most effective way to improve lives and strengthen our community.
